A new Island Races event to 2020 after high demand from competitors.
The event has all the charm of The Sprint and The Islander. The new location has the competitors Swim from the beach, making it easy for supporters to see the start, transition and finish all in one place. The Cycle leads competitors off the island, over the causeway (The Strood) and around the neighbouring village Peldon and one lap around the reservoir before returning back to the transition area. The Run consists of a mix terrain, 50% beach and 50% road, keeping it a true Mersea Island Olympic Triathlon! Competitors will finish just off the beach next to the transition area where spectators will cheer each competitor across the line. The Sprint and The Olympic will be taking place alongside one another making it a great atmosphere inside the race area for both spectators and competitors.
